Bosch Error Code E15

What E15 Means

Bosch dishwashers have an Aquastop system that watches for water sitting in the base pan underneath the tub. E15 means that system has detected water where it shouldn't be, and the machine has locked itself out of running any cycle. It's a built-in flood prevention feature, so it's worth taking seriously rather than clearing and ignoring.

Likely Causes

• An actual leak from a hose, valve, or pump seal inside the machine
• Condensation that's built up and pooled in the base pan over time
• A float switch in the base that's stuck or malfunctioning
• Residual water from a spill or overfill near the base of the unit

What You Can Check Safely

Unplug the dishwasher before doing anything else. Open the door and look down into the base of the machine for any standing water you can see. Wipe up visible moisture with a towel, and think back to whether anything was spilled or overfilled near the unit recently. If you can see or feel pooled water in the base, don't plug it back in and run it — that's exactly what the lockout is trying to prevent. Don't remove the bottom access panel to look further; that's where the pump and wiring live.

When to Call a Technician

Call for E15 every time, even if you dried up the water and the machine seems to reset. Running it again without finding where the water came from risks a repeat leak — and potentially real damage to your floor or cabinets — if the source wasn't just condensation.
