What F21 Means

What You Can Check Safely

Most front-load washers have a small drain pump filter door near the bottom front corner of the machine. Put a shallow pan and a towel underneath before opening it — some water will come out — and check the filter for coins, lint, or small debris. This is a routine, safe maintenance task on these machines. While you're back there, check the drain hose for any obvious kinks or tight bends.

When to Call a Technician
