LG Error Code d90 / d95
LG dryer showing d90 or d95? This is a safety warning about blocked airflow — it deserves attention right away, not just a reset.
What d90 / d95 Means
Unlike most codes on this site, d90 and d95 aren't just inconvenience alerts — they mean the dryer has detected that exhaust airflow is severely restricted, which is exactly the condition that leads to dryer fires. LG built this warning in specifically to get your attention before lint buildup becomes dangerous. Treat this code as something to act on the same day, not something to work around by running extra cycles.
Likely Causes
- A lint-clogged exhaust vent, by far the most common cause
- A crushed, kinked, or flattened section of vent hose behind the dryer
- Debris, a bird's nest, or a stuck flap blocking the vent opening outside
- An overly long or twisting vent run that restricts airflow even when clean
What You Can Check Safely
Start with the lint trap and clean it fully, even if you already did before this load. Then follow the vent hose from the back of the dryer to where it meets the wall, checking for any kinks, flattened spots, or visible lint clumped at the joints. Step outside and check that the exterior vent flap swings open freely and isn't blocked by debris, leaves, or a nest. If the full vent run is accessible and you can see it's clogged, a shop vac on the accessible ends can help, but don't disassemble the dryer cabinet itself to look further inside.
When to Call a Technician
If cleaning the parts you can reach doesn't clear the code, or the vent run travels through an attic, wall cavity, or long duct run you can't inspect yourself, get a technician or vent-cleaning service to clear the entire path before running the dryer again. Don't keep cycling loads through with this code showing. Our dryer repair team also handles LG appliance repairs across Greater Victoria and can inspect the full vent run as part of the visit.
